Affiliate Disclosure

Transparency about how we earn money — and why it doesn't affect our reviews.

Last updated: April 2026

Short version

Some links on this site earn us a commission if you click through and buy. This costs you nothing extra. Our reviews and scores are never influenced by whether a tool has an affiliate program. Tools without affiliate programs are reviewed exactly the same way as tools that pay us.

What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing means that when you click a link to a product on our site and then make a purchase, we may receive a commission from the company — at no additional cost to you. The price you pay is the same whether you come through our link or go directly to the company's website.

Which Links Are Affiliate Links?

Any link to a third-party product or service that may earn us a commission is marked with rel="sponsored" in the HTML. Visually, these links often appear as buttons labeled "Try free →", "Get started", or similar CTAs at the end of review sections.

Every page that contains affiliate links displays a disclosure notice at the top of the content. We do not use hidden affiliate links or attempt to obscure which links are monetized.

Who We Work With

We participate in affiliate programs offered directly by software companies and through affiliate networks including Impact.com, PartnerStack, and ShareASale. Our current affiliate relationships include tools in the AI writing, AI coding, and AI productivity categories.

Having an affiliate relationship is not a condition for being reviewed. We review tools that we find relevant to our readers regardless of whether they have an affiliate program. Tools without programs are reviewed identically to those with programs.

How Affiliate Relationships Do NOT Affect Our Reviews

  • Scores are calculated independently. Our scoring methodology is applied before we check affiliate status. A tool's commission rate has no bearing on its score.
  • Negative reviews are published. If a tool we have an affiliate relationship with scores poorly, we publish the honest score. We do not inflate scores to protect affiliate income.
  • Vendors cannot pay for placement. Our rankings, "best of" positions, and editorial recommendations are based solely on our evaluations. They are not for sale.
  • We don't accept review copies in exchange for favorable coverage. When vendors provide free access to review their tool, we disclose this and treat the review the same as any other.

FTC Compliance

This disclosure is made in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255). If you have questions about our compliance practices, contact us.

Questions?
